Barn Renovation

BRTC originally held classes in a local community center (1997). When the monthly fees rose to an uncomfortable level, we came up with the idea to renovate a small barn for dance space. That barn was ready for use in the winter of 1999. At the time, it did not have heat or “indoor plumbing” but we survived - dancing in hats, jackets and gloves with our breath hanging in the air. Everyone learned to use the facilities at home before and after clogging if they wanted to avoid the porta-potty...

Fourteen years later, we have shared the joy of clogging with more than 400 students, performed approximately 24 shows per year (many free of charge) and outgrown our facility.

We’re looking for 100 Barn Stars to donate $1000 each so that we can refurbish a larger barn at the same location. This will enable us to continue providing quality, family-friendly arts education to the community. Donations of any amount will be cheerfully accepted. Will you help?

Our current facility has a dance floor space of 13’ x 36’.  The newer space (barn pictured above) will be at least three times larger and will afford us room to grow.

BRTC has given to the community since 1997.  We have performed at nursing homes,  schools, fairs, festivals, educational events and private parties.  To continue serving the community, we need a larger space.  Will you help us fund the renovation?

Every Barn Star donor will be honored on a plaque in the new facility and acknowledged in the press when we hold an inaugural barn dance for the community.

This is a collaborative effort with Joshua’s Hands, also raising funds for the renovation.  Each organization will have separate accounting of donations collected for the project.  The total projected cost is $132,000.
